Gorepan means “the square” in Kurdish: a shared public space for exchanging ideas, speaking openly, and gathering in conversation. It is Jîna Academy’s digital publishing platform, an open space for fieldnotes, unfinished thoughts, urgent dispatches, and slow essays. It exists alongside, yet remains distinct from, our forthcoming biannual academic journal. Unlike a conventional journal, Gorepan is porous and experimental. It brings together student reflections, activist statements, poetic interventions, interview fragments, works in translation, academic work, and explorations of form. Shaped through participation, it grows with every contribution. We invite students, educators, artists, researchers, activists, and collaborators to publish across genres and languages, reflecting on what it means to study while in motion, to think under conditions of crisis, and to write in the afterlives of silence.
